• Woman Allegedly Uses Check Stolen From Colfax Home At Rocklin Walmart

    ROCKLIN (CBS13) – Authorities in Placer County are asking for the public’s help to find a woman wanted in connection with a burglary at a Colfax home.
    On July 15, a Colfax home was burglarized and the homeowner’s checkbook was taken, along with other items. On July 26, a woman reportedly went to a Rocklin Walmart and used one of the stolen checks, according to a Placer County Sheriff’s Department statement.

    OLIVEHURST (CBS13) – A teenage boy was hurt in an Olivehurst-area shooting that prompted a precautionary lockdown of schools nearby Wednesday morning.
    The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department said, around 8:30 a.m., schools in the area of Martel Drive went on precautionary lockdown due to a shooting investigation.
    Deputies said the schools were only placed on lockdown due to the proximity of the investigation, not due to campuses being involved.

  • Detectives: 3 Men Broke Into Rio Linda Home, Zip-Tied Women And Children

    RIO LINDA (CBS13) – Deputies are asking for the public’s help in identifying four men they say zip-tied two women and five children before robbing their home.
    The incident happened just after 10 p.m. Aug. 2 on 20th Street off Elkhorn Boulevard.
    Deputies say four male suspects forcibly entered the home by throwing rocks through a sliding glass door.
    Once they tied up the people inside, the suspects robbed the home before fleeing on foot.

  • Rio Vista Bridge Repairs Complete, Normal Operations To Resume

    RIO VISTA (CBS13) – The Rio Vista Bridge is set to resume normal operations.
    Wednesday morning, US Coast Guard officials said repairs to the bridge have been completed.The bridge had been subject to intermittent closures since August due to mechanical problems. Caltrans said the mechanism that raises and lowers the bridge was damaged.
    Delta drivers had to detour around the closures.

  • Tentative Salary Agreement Reached Between District, Rocklin Teachers

    ROCKLIN (CBS13) – It looks like there will be no strike for Rocklin teachers.
    Tuesday night, the Rocklin Unified School District announced that a tentative salary agreement has been reached. According to the district, it met with the Rocklin Teachers Professional Association last night and reached the agreement for the 2017-2018 school year.
    The parties agreed to a 1.95 percent salary increase as well as a $20 a month increase on the health benefit cap.
