• KSP not hosting drive-thru trick-or-treat

  The Kentucky State Police will not host its annual drive-thru trick-or-treat event this year due to ongoing construction at KSP Headquarters, at 919 Versailles Road in Frankfort. The agency looks forward to welcoming the community back for the event in 2027.
  KSP will still join in the Halloween fun by participating in “Thriller: Downtown Trick or Treat and Parade,” on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Frankfort.

• Board of commissioners discuss riverfront development committee

  The Board of Commissioners held discussions over the creation of a riverfront development committee. Although, no vote on the matter was taken at the Oct. 12 meeting.The conversation was led by City Manager Jason Monroe, who was largely in support. Additionally, he advised the board to add Mayor Layne Wilkerson and one commissioner to the committee.“The riverfront development is big. Sasaki came in and did the plan for us, and we’re slowly trying to work that plan,” Monroe said
