    SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (CBS13) – A South Lake Tahoe man has been convicted of burglary while armed with a potato.
    On September 10, William James Best, 41, went to the victim’s home to confront her about a dispute she had with his girlfriend.

  • 30 Pounds Of ?Crystal Meth Found After Probation Search In South Sacramento

    SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Authorities say they’ve made the single biggest meth bust in Sacramento County Probation history.
    According to the probation department, members from the Gang Suppression Unit showed up at a home along the 5300 block of 47th Avenue on Aug. 29 to visit a man on Post Release Community Supervision.
    The man, 29-year-old Gabriel Arauza, was said to have had a history of sales of narcotics.

  • Bicycle Stolen From Placer County Campers Later Found On Letgo App

    PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) – Authorities say campers who were burglarized later found their stuff for sale on the Letgo app.
    The Placer County Sheriff’s Office says the campers were at the Cisco Grove Campground recently when some of their stuff was stolen. One of the victims later saw that her son’s stolen bicycle was listed for sale on the online marketplace app known as Letgo.

  • Driver Arrested After Crashing Into Several Parked Cars In Downtown Sacramento

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A man was arrested in Downtown Sacramento early Friday morning after crashing into several parked cars on 15th and T streets.
    It happened at just about 3 a.m. Neighbors say they were dead asleep when the noise of the crash abruptly woke them up.
    A cleanup crew closed down the street for a time. There does not seem to be any injuries.
    The driver is in custody.
    It’s unclear exactly what led up to the driver crashing.

    NATOMAS (CBS13) — A grieving family’s memorial has been dismantled, just over a year after their loved one passed away. 15-year-old Jamari Moore was hit and killed on his bike, between El Centro Road and Arena Boulevard, last August.
    His family made a “ghost bike” tribute in his memory but learned it was stolen Tuesday.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Motorists traveling southbound from J Street to Richards Boulevard on Interstate 5 may want to avoid the area Thursday and Friday night as nighttime emergency work will continue.

    SHASTA COUNTY (CBS13) — Flare-ups from the Delta Fire, which has burned 58,427 acres in Shasta and Trinity counties, have shut down portions of Interstate 5 again.Caltrans announced Thursday that the interstate is closed down northbound at Dog Creek Road and southbound at Mott Road due to a flare-up near Gibson Road.
    This emergency closure comes just days after the interstate reopened to traffic.
