  • Fairytale Town Adds Anansi The Spider Play Structure

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13)  — Fairytale Town Opened its first new play structure in 21 years Saturday.
    The family amusement park, which has been a Sacramento favorite for nearly 60 years, added Anansi’s Web.
    The new attraction is inspired by Anansi the Spider, a West African Folk Tale Character. It features three vertical climbing webs and sculptures of four characters from Anansi’s folk tales.

    STOCKTON (CBS13) —  A close call came for a Stockton Family as a huge tree came crashing down onto their house in the very area where their children usually play.
    The family is still trying to figure out exactly what caused the tree to fall, but it was a close call, to say the least. Fortunately, no was seriously hurt.
    The tail end of the crash was caught on the family’s home security doorbell camera, but the aftermath is even worse.

    LODI (CBS13) — A search warrant for stolen property led detectives to a large gun bust in Lodi Wednesday.

    Lodi police detectives said they were following up on a stolen property case with the assistance of a Home Depot employee. Detectives said they were able to located and recover a stolen trencher and trailer that had been taken from the Home Depot in Lodi.

    SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Engineers set to sea Saturday to deploy a trash collection device to corral plastic litter floating between California and Hawaii in an attempt to clean up the world’s largest garbage patch in the heart of the Pacific Ocean.

    4:30 p.m. UPDATE: Cal Fire confirms that the fire has grown to 350 acres.

    TUOLUMNE COUNTY (CBS13) — Firefighters are battling a new fire at Highway 108 and Tulloch Road in Tuolumne County, according to Cal Fire.
    Cal Fire said the fire has grown to 250 acres and is 13 miles east of Oakdale.
