• RING Doorbell Camera Helps Thwart Attempted Roseville Home Burglary

    ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Authorities are crediting a Roseville resident’s RING doorbell camera with helping them catch an attempted burglary suspect.
    The incident happened last Monday at a home in an undisclosed part of Roseville.
    According to Placer County Sheriff’s Office Property Crime detectives, 34-year-old Sacramento resident Rachelle Copeland went up to the home that day and rang the doorbell.

  • Fast Moving North Fire In Tahoe National Forest Now 10% Contained

    EMIGRANT GAP (CBS13) – Firefighters battled flames through the night as they worked to gain ground on the North Fire.
    It broke out early Monday near the North Fork Campground in Emigrant Gap and quickly spread. Crews originally estimated the fire to be 650 acres, but better mapping on Tuesday revised the number to 500 acres.
    As of Tuesday morning, the US Forest Service says the fire is 10 percent contained.

    SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Sacramento County has seen a drastic increase in the number of homeless deaths from 2016 to 2017. One homeless person dies every three days.

    PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) – Sheriff’s deputies are headed to the North Fork campground in Emigrant Gap to assist Cal Fire with evacuations, according to a Placer County Sheriff’s Department tweet.
