    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A small electrical fire broke out Saturday evening under the Monorail at the California State Fair, Sacramento Fire reported.
    One person was reportedly on the train at the time but was not injured.
    Sacramento Fire reported to the scene and extinguished the fire. They reported that the fire was contained to a single car.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento Vector Control District says West Nile virus is on the rise.  And now the city of Sacramento says it may be partially responsible for more mosquito activity in the area.

    FOLSOM (CBS13) — A Folsom woman is fed up with a disturbing sound coming from a restaurant right behind her home.

  • Sacramento Regional Transit Fighting Declining Ridership

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento Regional Transit is suffering a multimillion-dollar loss in revenue due to fewer riders using the service.
    The district has been criticized for poor security and raising fares in the past.
    “The declining ridership numbers is the red flag that everyone should pay close attention to,” said Craig Powell with the watchdog Eye on Sacramento. “They need to wake up. They need to see their transit system is in crisis.”

  • Two Dead In Car Crash Along Highway 113

    DIXON (CBS13) — A man and a woman died Friday in a two-vehicle collision, Solano CHP said.
    According to CHP, the crash happened around 5 p.m. on Highway 113 between Fry Road and Hay Road.
    Officials said witnesses reported the man was driving a green Mini Cooper at a high speed and swerved into the southbound lane, hitting the female driving a Kia SUV.

    WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – San Francisco Giants 3rd baseman Evan Longoria is expected to rehab with the Sacramento River Cats during the team’s upcoming seven-game homestand.
    Longoria broke his left hand June 14 after getting hit by a pitch.
