    MODESTO (CBS13) – It may be the universal sign of car problems, but it means something completely different for officers working in hot weather.

    MODESTO (CBS13) – Drivers in Modesto needed to sit through a traffic jam while a gaggle of Canada geese crossed the street.
    Viewer Sandra Jimenez sent CBS13 this video on Facebook saying she saw nearly a dozen geese Tuesday evening as she went to school.The geese entered Tully Road near Big Valley Grace Church and slowly made their way across the 4-lane street. The drivers all stopped so the gaggle could cross safely. It took about a minute until the coast was finally clear!

  • DA: Stockton Officer Won’t Be Charged In Fatal 2016 Shooting

    STOCKTON (CBS13) – The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s office says the deadly 2016 officer-involved shooting of a Stockton man was justified.
    Colby Friday, 30, was shot and killed by Officer David Wells in August 2016.
    Officers confused Friday with another suspect and attempted to make contact, but he took off running. Friday was armed and refused to comply, officers said.

    Deputies believe Martinez left her home with three older female friends after an argument with her mother.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Sad news to share from the Sacramento Zoo.
    The 3-week-old red panda cub being hand-raised by zookeepers died early Monday morning from pneumonia.

    The red panda cub made headlines in late-June after her mother began neglecting her. Veterinarians and zookeepers stepped in the day after her June 25th arrival and began caring for the four ounce cub around-the-clock in the Dr. Murray E. Fowler Veterinary Hospital at the Sacramento Zoo.
