    ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – A cheer coach who was arrested after allegedly drinking under the influence has resigned from her position.
    The Roseville Joint Unified School District confirmed Friday that Gabriella Vega resigned from her position as coach at Roseville High School.
    Vega was chaperoning a dozen students at an out-of-town cheer camp last weekend at Sonoma State University. Campus police said, on Sunday night, a report was made that a person was driving erratically.

  • Photojournalist Saved Flag From Home Destroyed By Carr Fire

    REDDING (CBS13) – The Carr Fire is now 44,450 acres and only 3 percent contained as of 9:17 a.m. Friday.
    The flames have destroyed at least 65 structures, including the home of one of Photojournalist Dave Grashoff’s childhood friends.

  • Man’s Death At South Sacramento Homeless Camp Investigated As Homicide

    SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Deputies are investigating after a man was found dead in a south Sacramento homeless camp Friday morning.
    The scene was near Elk Grove-Florin and Gerber roads. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department says deputies responded to the scene just before 6:30 a.m. to investigate a reported death at a homeless camp in the area.
    An unresponsive man was found at the scene. He was soon pronounced dead by medics.

  • Woman Killed After Losing Control Of Car, Crashing In Elk Grove

    ELK GROVE (CBS13) – A woman was killed after losing control of her SUV and crashing in Elk Grove Friday night.
    The scene was on Willard Parkway, just south of Whitelock Parkway.
    Elk Grove police say, just before 8:30 p.m., officers responded to investigate a reported crash. At the scene, officers found that a 2012 Nissan had crashed into a tree in the center median.

    MODESTO (CBS13) – A local nurse has vanished after telling friends she was heading to Tahoe.
    The El Dorado County Office was contacted by 40-year-old Jessica Youssi after she missed work both Monday and Tuesday.

    NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) – The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who was intentionally hit and killed by a vehicle in North Highlands Wednesday.
    Fifty-year-old Joaquin Gonzalez was hit while in the parking lot of a Del Taco just before 8:30 p.m.

  • Giants Re-Instate Evan Longoria From DL

    SAN FRANCISCO (CBS13) – The San Francisco Giants activated 3rd basemen Evan Longoria from the disabled list on Thursday.
    The 32-year-old broke his left hand on June 14. He rehabbed with the Sacramento River Cats and played 4 games with the team. He went 3-for-14 with 2 RBI and one walk.
    Longoria was traded to the Giants in the offseason. He spent the previous 10 seasons playing for the Tampa Bay Rays and earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2008.
