    SHASTA COUNTY (CBS13) – A 2-year-old girl in Shasta County made sure firefighters battling the Carr Fire got a warm breakfast this morning.
    Little Gracie’s mom posted the video on Facebook and it’s been viewed more than 7,000 times by Monday afternoon.Chelsey Lutz wrote that her mom made the warm breakfasts and then she and her daughter handed them out to fire crews at the Shasta District Fair & Event Center.
     
  • Two Cases Of Animal Cruelty Investigated In Sacramento County

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The Bradshaw Animal Shelter rescued 3 dogs they suspect were abused.
    A Facebook post shows one of the dog’s with wounds around its face. The wounds are consistent with an ill-fitting muzzle or other type of tightly-wrapped material.
    The one-year-old male Papillion mix was found Saturday at an apartment complex on Marconi Avenue and Lacy Lane. He is expected to make a full recovery. You’re asked to call 311 and reference 744883.

  • One Person Identified In Deadly Folsom Shooting

    FOLSOM (CBS13) – One of the people killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Folsom this weekend has been identified.
    David McGhee died Sunday afternoon in the shooting on King Way.
    The 443-year-old was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner on Monday morning.
    Police didn’t indicate if he was the shooter or the victim.
    “Initial reports…it appears to be some type of domestic disturbance,” Detective Donald Rowberry with Folsom Police told CBS13 on Sunday.

    REDDING (CBS13) – Redding Police arrested two men accused of being in a neighborhood evacuated during the Carr Fire.
    44-year-old Brian Cordoza and 37-year-old Frank Webb were both arrested last Sunday and booked into the Shasta County Jail.

    ELK GROVE (CBS13) – A fire erupted early Monday morning at a restaurant in Elk Grove.A Cosumnes Fire spokesperson said around 3:20 a.m. they received an alert from a smoke detector at the Macaroni Grill restaurant on Laguna Boulevard.When firefighters arrived, they found the back part of the building fully engulfed in flames.   • Folsom Police Investigate a Double Shooting

    Folsom, CA (CBS 13)- Folsom Police are investigating the death of 2 men Sunday afternoon.
    Police tell CBS 13 that they got a call about shots fired in the 700 block of King Way shortly after 4pm.
    When officers arrived they found one male deceased in the a front yard who had been shot and another needing medical attention.

    Officials have ordered the town of Lakeport in Northern California to evacuate as a wildfire moves toward the Lake County recreation area.

  • 2nd Firefighter Dies While Fighting Ferguson Fire

    Yosemite National Park,(CBS 13 SACRAMENTO) – The National Parks Service confirms that a 2nd firefighter has died on the fire lines of the Ferguson Fire.
    The incident occurred Sunday morning as a crew was engaged in tactical firing operations in an area with large amount of tree mortality.
