  • DMV May Face Lawmaker Questions About Long Wait Times, Will Expand Hours

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The California Department of Motor Vehicles may need to answer to the State Legislature next month about the long wait times being experienced at offices statewide.
    News of the audit comes as the DMV announced it is expanding its Saturday hours and will open certain offices one hour early on weekdays in order to help ease wait times caused by the new Federal REAL ID requirement, and a new queueing system and a new license and ID application.

    SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Detectives have identified a person of interest in a shooting that left a 45-year-old woman dead last weekend.
    The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department says, in the early morning hours of July 8, a woman was found shot in a car near the intersection of Stockton Boulevard and Florin Road. The woman, identified as Nedria Issac, was pronounced dead at the scene.

  • DA: Developers Bulldozed Native American Burial Grounds In West Sacramento, Tried To Cover It Up

    WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The Yolo County District Attorney has filed a civil suit against four companies suspected of bulldozing Native American burial grounds.

    ATWATER (CBS13) – A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Merced County.
    The Atwater Police Department says 46-year-old Tyrone Johnson of Merced was taken into custody for the murder of Arthur Hudson on July 2.
    Johnson was found in the area of Kelso Street and Determine Drive in Atwater, which is about 10 miles north of Merced.
    Officers say where Johnson was found was also close to the scene of the murder.
    His bail is set at $1 million.
