    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – With a spotlight on child sex abuse cases across the country, Erie County officials are launching a new campaign. The goal is to educate the community, and get more children to report their abuse.
    “We need to have this program, protecting and helping our children on our minds all the time,” said Erie County District Attorney John Flynn. “We can’t and should not wait until something bad happens.”

  • West Seneca man, 33, pleads guilty to sexual conduct against a child

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A 33-year-old West Seneca man has pleaded guilty to sexual conduct against a child.
    David Moretto pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of course of sexual conduct against a child.
    Moretto was arrested in March 2017 by West Seneca Police for engaging in sexual acts with an underage female over the course of two years.
    He faces five to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced March 26.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo narcotics detective was driving his police-issued vehicle when he was arrested for driving while intoxicated overnight Monday in Cheektowaga, according to records obtained by News 4.
    According to those records, it’s his second arrest for drunk driving.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Winter weather was back in Western New York Wednesday, pushing into the metro just in time to slow the last half of the morning to commute to a crawl in many places.
    Buffalo Public Works Commissioner Steve Stepniak said the city had more than 30 plows out on the roads throughout the day, working to clean up. The plows started on the main roads and secondary roads in the morning, and were on track to plow the side and back streets in the afternoon.

    RICHFIELD, Minn. (KXAN) — Best Buy is planning to pull CDs from its stores beginning in July, amid a drop in sales in the U.S., according to a report.

    WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. health authorities say an herbal supplement promoted as an alternative pain remedy contains the same chemicals found in opioids, the addictive family of drugs at the center of a national addiction crisis.

    GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB)- Dana Papaj was out walking her dog Molly on East River Road on Grand Island June 13 when her life changed forever.
