    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The former corrections officer who pleaded guilty in October to striking a Grand Island woman with his truck and leaving the scene has been sentenced to one to three years in prison.
    Edward J. Kuebler III also had his driver’s license revoked during Monday’s sentencing.
    Kuebler pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious physical injury- a felony.

    CUBA, N.Y. (WIVB) – News 4 is hearing from the manufacturing company that is accused of selling tainted horse feed to a farm in Cuba.

    HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Graduate dental school students and a top University of Connecticut orthodontics professor took a selfie with two severed heads used for medical research at a training workshop at Yale University last year — an episode Yale officials called “disturbing” and “inexcusable.”

    (CNN) – The Dow fell 1,200 points Monday and nearly 1,900 points over the past two sessions.
    Stock market volatility emerged last week as investors grew more worried about turmoil in the bond market caused by inflation concerns.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo police are investigating an accident involving officers.
    On Monday morning, police say a patrol vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle, causing the patrol vehicle to hit a second patrol vehicle.
    The incident happened just after 10:30 a.m. on Route 33 westbound near the Route 198 exit.
    At the time, police were assisting with traffic due to an earlier accident call. The patrol vehicles were parked and had officers in them when they were struck.

  • Amherst police: 4 men steal watches from Reeds Jewelers on Maple Rd.

    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — On Friday night, Amherst police say four men went to the Reeds Jewelers on Maple Rd. and took all the Rolex watches.
    Police say the men, who were wearing ski masks, smashed glass cases with sledgehammers during the incident.
    Customers and workers were there at the time, but no one was threatened or hurt, police say. Staff members were able to get everyone into a back room.

  • Crash into hydrant causes discolored water in Jamestown

    JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities says residents’ water may be discolored for a while after a vehicle crash.
    According to the board, the vehicle crashed into a hydrant on Blackstone Ave. on Monday, causing flooding and a road closure.
    On Monday morning, the board said water could be discolored for 12-24 hours. Residents were advised to not do their laundry until water appears clear.
    The board says work is being done to repair the issue.
