    FALCONER, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Falconer woman was charged with driving while intoxicated with two children under 16 in the vehicle Sunday evening.
    Karen L. Webster, 48, of Falconer, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law, driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Kelly for Kids Foundation has announced its 2017 list of grant recipients
    The charity, started by Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, is granting over $240,000 to children’s charities in WNY through support collected in 2017.

  • Buffalo mother found dead in house fire identified

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo Police confirm the 27-year-old mother who was found dead in her east side apartment building is Elisabeth Bell.
    It’s unclear how Bell died. She was found deceased in the second floor of a Manhattan Avenue apartment building, which police reported was intentionally set on fire.
    The building was ablaze when crews arrived and found Bell. An autopsy is being conducted to determine her cause of death.

    LONDON (AP) — Dolores O’Riordan, lead singer of Irish band The Cranberries, died suddenly on Monday. She was 46.
    O’Riordan died in London, where she was recording, publicist Lindsey Holmes said. The cause of death wasn’t immediately available.

  • Chair of the Catt. County Leg. dies unexpectedly

    SOUTH DAYTON, NY  (WIVB)  The chairperson of the Cattaraugus County Legislature, Paula Stockman, died unexpectedly in her sleep late Friday or early Saturday morning.
    Stockman, who was 64, was a Republican who served a long period as South Dayton Village Clerk.  Close friends were not aware of any health concerns.
    She was reportedly the second woman to hold the chairmanship of the county legislature.

    NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A North Tonawanda man was jailed after authorities say he stabbed a family member in the neck.
    Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies charged Cory Ochterski, 40, with assault.
    Deputies say Ochterski was driving down Tonawanda Creek Rd. with a family member on Saturday night.
    The family member was stabbed, and then deputies say Ochterski ran off. Deputies later found him in Amherst.
