  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Dine Downtown, the annual event where dozens of Sacramento restaurants offer up three-course $35 prix fixe menus to raise money for a good cause, is a week away from starting.

• Visitor Dies At Yosemite National Park During Shutdown

  YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK (AP) — The National Park Service says a man died after falling into a river at Yosemite National Park on Christmas Day.
  Government spokesman Andrew Munoz says Friday the man apparently slipped down Silver Apron, a large, sloping granite area above Nevada Falls.
  Munoz said rangers responding to a 911 call arrived on scene in less than an hour. They pulled him from the water and provided medical aid, but the man died from a head injury.

  Front Street Animal Shelter says “Nindi” was found in terrible conditions at an area home. Nindi’s owner had apparently chained her up, leaving her emaciated and with an untreated fractured leg.
