  GOLD RIVER (CBS13) — Before hitting the snow traffic along I-80 slowed to a stop leaving drivers waiting for hours. Chain controls were in effect starting east of Gold Run. • Cops Eating Burgers Thwart In-N-Out Smash And Grab

  VACAVILLE (CBS13) — Two Vacaville police offers were in the right place at the right time to thwart a crime. They say they were grabbing a quick bite at an In-N-Out restaurant when they saw two hooded men smash a car window across the parking lot.
  One officer gave chase, while the other stopped a getaway car parked nearby.
  The would-be robbers took off on foot and ran across Nut Tree Parkway, but police backup arrived and help nabbed the men.

  LODI (CBS13) — Lodi Police say they cited three clerks at smoke shops and tobacco stores for selling to minors.
  Officers working with police cadets conducted a minor decoy operation across the city. The underage decoys attempted to buy tobacco at 24 shops.

• Heavy Snow Causing Slow Go In The Sierra

  The snow is coming down in the higher elevations. Chains are currently required for all vehicles heading into the Sierra on Highways 50 and 80, unless the vehicles are four-wheel-drive with snow tires on all four wheels.
  Caltrans says the chain requirements start one mile east of Baxter on Highway 80, ending one mile east of Truckee.
  ALSO: Weather Halts Weekend Shutdown Of Tower Bridge
  On Highway 50, chains are required 1.5 miles west of Kyburz to Meyers.

• Fallen Tree Blocking Light Rail Tracks In Downtown Sacramento

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento Regional Transit crews are cleaning up a large tree that fell across the tracks in downtown Sacramento. The tree fell near 12th and R Streets, blocking both the Gold and Blue Lines.
  A bus bridge is now in place.
