    FOLSOM (CBS13) – Two men were arrested in Folsom on theft charges after an alert resident saw some things he says didn’t seem right.
    Police say they received a report early Monday from a resident who says he saw a man “casing” his neighbor’s home.   • You Can Wait An Extra Two Years To Get Your Car Smog Checked

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Beginning January 1, you’ll get an extra two years before you’ll need a smog test on your car.
    The new law exempts motor vehicles that are 8 or less model-years old from needing to undergo smog checks. The current law requires cars that are 6 or more model-years to get tested upon registration renewal.
    With the change, car owners with vehicles 7 and 8 model-years old will now pay an annual $25 smog abatement fee and that money will go into the Air Pollution

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police are investigating a freeway shooting on Highway 50 on Sunday night that sent one man to the hospital.
    Westbound Highway 50 is now back open after it was closed early Monday morning for a shooting investigation.
    According to a CHP statement, a 22-year old man driving an Acura SUV, was shot on westbound Highway 50 between highway 99 and the 15th Street exit just before 9 p.m. Sunday. He is described as being in stable condition, although the extent of his injuries
  • Crash On Power Inn Road Early Monday Morning Sends 1 Person To The Hospital

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – At least one person is in the hospital with major injuries after a car crashed through a fence in South Sacramento.
    The crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. on Power Inn Road just south of Gerber Road.
    Two two cars appear to be involved in the crash, say police. The circumstances that led to it are not yet known.

  • Woman Shot In Florin Area Expected To Survive

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A woman is recovering after a getting shot along Florin Road over the weekend.
    Investigators say a fight started outside a car. One person pulled out a gun and shots were fired.
    The driver sped off and eventually crashed their vehicle at Florin Road and Lindale Drive.
    The woman who was shot is expected to survive.

    SALIDA, Calif (CBS13) — Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in Salida.  The incident happened shortly after 2:30 PM Sunday afternoon on Stonehart Lane.  According to the Sheriff’s department, the suspect was shot and transported to an area hospital for treatment.  No deputies or officers were hurt in the incident and the condition of the suspect was not immediately released.
