    LODI (CBS13) — A Lodi mom has a unique twist on marketing local businesses. Every week, Jessica Montgomery features a new business owner on social media and interviews them in her car.
    “It dawned on me that this is something that would be great to promote a small business owner,” she said.
    Montgomery made her first video back in April and got 1,000 hits on the first day. Now she’s searching for more businesses that want exposure.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones revealed new information Friday in the shooting death of deputy Mark Stasyuk.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A terrifying mystery appears to be solved after investigators announced an arrest in a series of sexual assaults dating back nearly three decades.
    Investigators say Roy Charles Waller is the man behind a series of sexual assaults spanning 15 years, starting in 1991. Waller was arrested as he arrived to work at UC Berkeley, where he has been employed for the past two decades.

    RIPON (CBS13) — Several people living in a neighborhood in Ripon are having a hard time sleeping because of a pesky bug that doesn’t seem to want to go away.

    This renovation of love started with digging up some physical and emotional dirt. It was six months ago when Sequita Thompson’s South Sacramento backyard became a crime scene after the shooting death of her grandson.

  • People Trapped In Garages During Wine Country Wildfires Inspire New Law

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) —  Governor Brown signed a bill Friday requiring automatic garage door openers to have a backup battery designed to operate during electrical outages.
    The bill was inspired by the wildfires in Wine County last year that destroyed many homes. During the wildfires, California Senator Bill Dodd could not open his wooden garage door because the power was already out in his Napa neighborhood.
    The remains of at least five people were found where garages once stood.
