• Several Agencies Battle House Fire In El Dorado County Community Of Rescue

    RESCUE (CBS13) – 3:15 p.m. UPDATE: El Dorado Hills Fire says the structure fire and wildland fire are contained.
    Two homes were evacuated to the north of the fire, and firefighters said the Red Cross is on the scene.
    PG&E is restoring power to the neighborhood as well.
    2:30 p.m. UPDATE: Several agencies are responding to a residential structure fire in the El Dorado County community of Rescue early Wednesday afternoon.

    MANTECA (CBS13) — The search is on for a front porch pirate in Manteca, according to police.

    Police said a suspect was caught entering a closed gate area of a front porch in the neighborhood near Villa Ticino Park Tuesday and stealing a package from the front door.

    LODI (CBS13) – Authorities say an arrest has been made in the murder of Lodi doctor Thomas Shock.
    Lodi police say Robert Elmo Lee, a 79-year-old Lodi resident, Christopher Anthony Costello, 26, and Mallory Stewart, 27, have been arrested in connection to the case.

    PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) – Two alleged arsonists are under arrest, suspected of starting fires in the Lincoln area in 2017 and 2018.
    Cal Fire investigators arrested 30-year-old Kyle Jeptha Bridgman of Lincoln on suspicion of deliberately starting five fires in the Lincoln area between June 19 and August 3, 2017, a statement from Cal Fire reads. He was booked into Placer County Jail on five counts of arson.

  • Suspect In Deputy Stasyuk’s Killing May Be Arraigned From Hospital Bedside

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The suspect in the shooting that left Deputy Mark Stasyuk dead remains hospitalized as of Wednesday morning.
    According to the Sacramento County Jail logs, Anton Lemon Paris was booked early Tuesday morning. However, the sheriff’s department notes it was a “bodyless booking,” meaning Paris remains in the hospital.

    FAIRFIELD (CBS13) — An 80-year-old Fairfield man is recovering from his injuries after he was stabbed after a lunch date with his wife.
    Ed Monroe was walking out of a Burger King on North Texas Street when he was stabbed in the chest. He says at first he thought he was punched until he looked down and saw a blade sticking out of his chest.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A fire on Front Street that firefighters say started in a homeless camp on Monday may be out now, but the city’s still feeling the burn.
    “It’s not the first fire out here. we have a lot of fires out here and difficult to control because it’s not policed,” said Sacramento Fire Battalion Chief Rick Hudson. “The homeless encampments can be a very dangerous place and there’s quite a few of them in the city,” he said.

    SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) — A traffic circuit outage left streetlights flashing red in Sacramento County on Tuesday.
    The problem happened around 4 p.m. and stretched for more than an hour in some locations.
