    Sacramento Police Chief Daniel Hahn announced that a suspect has been arrested in the NorCal Rapist case.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Authorities say they are set to announce a “major development” the NorCal Rapist case Friday morning.
    Police have said the “NorCal Rapist” is believed to be responsible for a series of sexual assaults in several cities from the Sacramento Valley to the Bay Area. The spree lasted from 1991 to at least 2006. At least nine women are believed to have been victims of the NorCal Rapist.

    RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) – A car crash survivor is sharing her memories of fallen deputy Mark Stasyuk – who she credits with saving her life.

    TURLOCK (CBS13) – A Turlock man was arrested after authorities say he intentionally hit a woman with his car in the parking lot of a Walmart on Wednesday.
    The man says he ran over the victim because “God told him to.”

  • Calaveras County Sheriffs Eradicate Over 4,100 Marijuana Plants In Two Days

    CALAVERAS COUNTY (CBS13) — Sheriff’s deputies from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office of Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) eradicated over 4,100 marijuana plants in two days.
    In their first bust of the two days, the team arrested three men for an illegal marijuana grow Wednesday.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Local Dutch Bros coffee locations are offering the community a way to give back to the family of fallen deputy Mark Stasyuk.
    All Sacramento area Dutch Bros locations will be participating in the fundraiser which will donate $1 from each drink sold on Sunday to the Deputy Mark Stasyuk Memorial Fund.

    NORTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A young teen was hit by a car, and the left to die. It happened early Wednesday morning on Watt Avenue near Whitney Avenue.
    The victim’s family said 14-year-old De’Sean was riding his bike when he was hit by a car then dragged for blocks.

    SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) — An inmate who escaped from a Nevada County prison camp earlier this week is back in custody after being found by authorities in San Leandro Thursday.
    On Tuesday, the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation asked the public’s help in finding Justin Tyquiengco. He was discovered missing at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning from Washington Ridge Conservation Camp outside Nevada City, about 47 miles west of Truckee.

    FAIRFIELD (CBS13) — Two on-duty police officers sustained moderate injuries in a four-vehicle accident on Highway 12 Thursday.

    SOLANO COUNTY (CBS13) — Midterm elections are quickly approaching and Solano County is looking for more than 400 people to work at polling locations on Election Day, Nov. 6.These jobs come with a stipend ranging from $50 – $250.According to the Assistant Registrar of Voters, John Gardner, “it takes more than 1,000 citizens to help conduct a statewide general election and we need the communities’ help.”
