• Broken Glass Injures Girl After Bullets Strike Bingo Hall

    DENVER, Colo. (CBS4) – A 12-year-old girl was taken to the hospital early Sunday morning after gunfire broke a window at a Denver bingo hall.
    Broken glass from the hall’s window struck the girl in the face.
    “I held pressure to her face until first responders arrived,” witness Regan Shale Lefferts told CBS4. “Her face was bleeding profusely.”

  • No Powerball Winner, Jackpot Swells To $650M

    DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Powerball officials say there was no grand prize winner in the latest drawing, meaning one of the nation’s largest lottery jackpots will continue growing.
    Maura McCann of the New Hampshire Lottery says no ticket matched all six numbers following Saturday night’s drawing. The winning numbers are: 17, 19, 39, 43, 68 and Powerball 13.
    The new jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is $650 million, which would be the third-largest jackpot in U.S. history.

    ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – An 18-year-old woman is in the hospital following an early morning shooting.
    In a news release, the Englewood Police Department says it responded at 2:29 a.m. to a reported shooting in the 3100 block of South Ogden Street.

    LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dick Gregory, who broke racial barriers in the 1960s and used his humor to spread messages of social justice and nutritional health, has died. He was 84.
    Gregory’s son, Christian, told The Associated Press his father died late Saturday in Washington, D.C. after being hospitalized for about a week. He had suffered a severe bacterial infection.

    HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. (CBS4) – A newborn bison was isolated by the staff at the Animal Adventure Park after her dad became aggressive.

  • Two Wildfires Burning In Colorado

    GRAND COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Fire crews responded Saturday to a wildfire burning in an isolated area northwest of Granby.
    At the same time, a separate wildfire closed a state highway briefly in Moffat County.

    DENVER (CBS4) – The galleries in the Denver Art Museum’s north building are closing soon.
    The last chance to check them out will be Nov. 19.
