    DENVER, Colo. (CBS4) – One person is dead following a shooting Friday night at 28th Avenue and Albion Street.
    A spokesperson with the Denver Police Department, Marika Putnam, said Saturday morning that DPD is investigating the incident as a homicide.

  • Oregon Wildfire Forces Evacuations In Prime Eclipse Zone

    SISTERS, Ore. (AP) — About 600 residents are under evacuation orders in a prime eclipse-viewing location in Oregon threatened by a wildfire that has closed access to part of a wilderness area and a regional highway.
    Fire officials said Saturday another 1,000 residents near the tourist town of Sisters have been told to be ready to leave if necessary.
    Crews are expecting a tough day with winds gusting to more than 20 mph.

    SILT, Colo. (CBS4)– The man killed in a crash that happened after he was pulled over has been identified as a teacher in Carbondale.Shaw Lewis was killed when a vehicle crashed into him and the Colorado State Patrol officer who pulled him over on Interstate 70 near Silt on Wednesday.

    CRAIG, Colo. (CBS4)– A high school teacher and coach has been arrested, suspected of sexual exploitation of a child.Justin Folley was arrested in Craig where he was chared with sexual exploitation of a child.Police say the allegations involve a former student and happened between 2013 and 2015.
    Folley, 35, was a teacher at Moffat County High School. He has been on administrative leave since April.

    DENVER (CBS4) – Xcel Energy will host 70 volunteer projects as part of Day of Service. Girls Incorporated of Metro Denver is one of those projects. Volunteers will be helping out by refurbishing a fence, and detail cleaning the organization’s fleet of vehicles. Xcel Energy gives each organization a stipend to help pay for materials and tools to make the projects happen. This project accepts children 12-years-old and older.
