    DENVER (CBS4) – CBS4 has learned the city of Denver has reached a tentative agreement to pay former Senior Assistant City Attorney Stuart Shapiro more than $600,000 to settle his claims of retaliation by the Denver City Attorney’s office.

    EAGLE, Colo. (AP) – A 32-year-old Avon man who pleaded guilty to causing the death of his infant daughter has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
    Patrick Williams pleaded guilty to a child abuse charge and was sentenced Wednesday for the June 8, 2015, death of Paris Williams. His fiancee and Paris’ mother, 25-year-old Lossie Thomas, also pleaded guilty to child abuse and was sentenced in June to seven years in prison.

    SILVERTON, Colo. (AP) – Authorities say two people were killed and two others were injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash in southwestern Colorado.
    The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office says Gary Adkinson was driving the ATV with three passengers north of Silverton on Tuesday evening. The vehicle was having transmission problems so Adkinson tried to coast down Corkscrew Pass.

    The council had considered a ballot question for voters in November.
    The tax increase would have helped create more parking.
    After a public hearing on the idea, the council voted six to one against the ballot measure.
