  DENVER (CBS4) – CBS4 has learned the city of Denver has reached a tentative agreement to pay former Senior Assistant City Attorney Stuart Shapiro more than $600,000 to settle his claims of retaliation by the Denver City Attorney’s office.

  BERTHOUD, Colo. (CBS4) – Crews battling a wildfire in Larimer County announced Thursday morning that they have achieved 65 percent containment.

• Latest Close Call Captured On Video Shows Risk Emergency Crews Face

  BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4) – A crew of firefighters in Brighton were able escape serious injury last month when a car being driven by an apparently distracted driver came right at them.

  RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — A Brazilian police official is telling The Associated Press that American swimmer Ryan Lochte fabricated a story about being robbed at gunpoint in Rio de Janeiro.

  EAGLE, Colo. (AP) – A 32-year-old Avon man who pleaded guilty to causing the death of his infant daughter has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
  Patrick Williams pleaded guilty to a child abuse charge and was sentenced Wednesday for the June 8, 2015, death of Paris Williams. His fiancee and Paris’ mother, 25-year-old Lossie Thomas, also pleaded guilty to child abuse and was sentenced in June to seven years in prison.

  SILVERTON, Colo. (AP) – Authorities say two people were killed and two others were injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash in southwestern Colorado.
  The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office says Gary Adkinson was driving the ATV with three passengers north of Silverton on Tuesday evening. The vehicle was having transmission problems so Adkinson tried to coast down Corkscrew Pass.

• Vail’s Town Council Votes Against Lift Ticket Tax For Parking

  VAIL, Colo. (CBS4)– The Vail Town Council has scrapped a plan to raise the lift ticket tax that would have been used to pay for parking.
  The council had considered a ballot question for voters in November.
  The tax increase would have helped create more parking.
