    3 Sheriff Deputies Fired Over Excessive Force Against Inmates
    DENVER (CBS4) – CBS4 has confirmed three Denver sheriff deputies have been fired for using excessive force against inmates.
    The notice of all three terminations came within a two-week period earlier this summer.
    Deputy William Jackson was fired for an incident in 2014 when he threw a mentally ill patient back into his cell after seizing his Bible.
    The department also says Deputy Steven Roybal used excessive force in 2015 when he smashed an inmate’s finger on a cell door.

    The Colorado Department of Transportation is closing the busy intersection overnight to continue design and replacement work on the I-25 bridge over Arapahoe Road.

    Denver firefighters doused a blaze at a Walgreens on Colfax Avenue and Race Street early Sunday morning.
    The fire began on the exterior, and didn’t make its way inside, said Jeff Windecker, of Denver Fire.

    CUSTER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – A man from New York survived a bad fall during a hike in southern Colorado.
    Search and rescue crews credited the man’s helmet with saving his life.
    Tim Huneck, 57, and his son were climbing the Crestone Needle when he slipped and fell about 30 feet Friday night.
    Huneck’s son went for help and crews were able to pull the injured man to safety.
