David Einhorn's Greenlight Capital just threw shade on Elon Musk's Tesla.
Greenlight opened its third-quarter investor letter sent Friday October 28 with this quote from Dave Pell, editor of NextDraft:
“It’s pretty amazing that we live in an age when a CEO of two public companies can give a talk about colonizing Mars and shareholders don’t see that as a warning signal.”
He is obviously referring to Musk. Greenlight's second quarter letter finished with a quote about Tesla

A hot new hedge fund backed by Stan Druckenmiller is closing in on a big launch
A hot new hedge fund backed by investing legend Stan Druckenmiller is set to launch Tuesday, November 1 with several hundred million dollars under management.

An exact launch figure could not be determined as the firm is still fundraising, according to people familiar with the matter.
Still, the launch comes at a time when mos -
This 55-year-old woman made history and $140 million by taking her tech company public on Friday (BL)
It's been a good day for Therese Tucker.
She just broke a glass ceiling as the first woman founder/CEO to lead a venture-capital-backed Los Angeles startup to an initial public offering, according to The Los Angeles Times' Paresh Dave.
And it's been a very respectable IPO at that.
BlackLine, which offers cloud accounting software, increased its IPO price on Thursday to $17, above an initial target range of $13-$15.
On Friday morning, the shares opened at $24.52, a 44% pop. The stock was trading -

Stocks tank on news that the FBI is reopening its investigation into Clinton's emails (SPY, SPX, DJI, IXIC)
Stocks fell, then regained much of the lost ground Friday, following news that the FBI is reopening its investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.
This was the reaction of the S&P 500:
In a letter to Congress, FBI Director James Comey wrote that the investigative team in charge of looking into Clinton's server briefed him on Thursday on new emails it found that might contain classified information.
The email scandal has plagued C -
Why advertisers should avoid clickbait in the post-truth era
‘Post truth’ is a term that has become synonymous with 2016. From politics and the rise of real-time fact-checking sites to verify claims made in the US presidential election, to social media and clickbait culture that lures people in without always having the goods to back it up.
Digital Spy editor-in-chief Julian Linley believes this shift towards post truth poses a significant problem for brands.
Speaking at the Festival of Marketing, which took place on 5 to 6 October, he said: & -

Coca-Cola, John Lewis and Tesco: 5 things that mattered this week
Coca-Cola: Good marketing on its own is not enough
The fizzy drinks giant posted its third quarter results this week, which showed net sales had fallen 7% year-on-year to $10.6bn (£8.66bn). And speaking on an investor call, Coca-Cola’s COO James Quincey admitted its marketing would have to be better executed moving forward.

Trick or treat? The spooookiest Halloween campaigns
Burger King – Scariest BK
Burger King never misses an opportunity to make a dig at its rival McDonald’s. Earlier this week, a Burger King restaurant in New York dressed up as ‘the ghost of McDonald’s’ by covering itself in a massive white sheet alongside a sassy sign stating “Booooooo! Just kidding, we still flame grill our burgers. Happy Halloween.” At the time of publication, there hasn’t been a retaliation by McDonald’s just yet.
