    ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Police are investigating after a woman was attacked after meeting up with someone she had contacted through an online dating site.
    According to the Elk Grove Police Department, the woman and suspect had arranged to meet at a hotel along the 2300 block of Longport Court Sunday morning.

  • Chase Of Pickup Reported Stolen Ends In Fiery Crash In Placer County

    WEIMAR (CBS13) – A chase ended in a fiery crash in Placer County Tuesday morning.
    The incident started after a vehicle was reported stolen out of Rocklin. The vehicle, a work truck, was then spotted by authorities in the Auburn/Colfax area a little before 8:30 a.m.

  • Search On For Skier Missing Since Monday At South Lake Tahoe Resort

    STATELINE, Nev. (AP) – A naval helicopter has joined sheriff’s deputies in the search for a lost skier at Lake Tahoe.
    Douglas County Undersheriff Paul Howell says 62-year-old Brett Herrick of Seaside, California was reported missing at about 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Heavenly ski resort on the south end of the lake.

    PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) — The wife of accused East Area Rapist Joseph DeAngelo has filed for divorce.
    Court documents show Sharon Huddle made the divorce filing in Placer County last July.

  • Man Sentenced To 4 Years In Prison For Storage Facility Burglary

    RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) — A Merced County man has been sentenced to four years in prison for the burglary of a Rancho Cordova storage facility in 2018.
    Rancho Cordova police arrested Ernest Lovett for burglarizing a storage facility back in August 2018. Police said $126,000 of personal property was stolen.
    Police also said Lovett was on active state parole for criminal threats and was also on probation in Sacramento County for theft of personal property.
