• Sacramento Man Arrested During Virginia Capitol Protest

  RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – A protester at the Virginia Capitol has been arrested during a protest against Gov. Ralph Northam.
  Capitol Police said 23-year-old Patrick Talamantes of Sacramento, California, was charged with vandalism and littering after he tossed a container of red dye in a Capitol fountain.
  Police said they stopped an unnamed woman who had a dye pack by another fountain, and she was issued a notice barring her from the Capitol for six months.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Lawmakers are again pushing legislation to require middle and high schools to start no earlier than 8:30 am.
  Senator Anthony Portantino (D- San Fernando) introduced SB 328 on Friday. Last session he authored a similar bill that was vetoed by Governor Jerry Brown.

• Firefighters Called Out Twice In 24 Hours To South Sacramento Home

  SOUTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Firefighters battled a blaze at a South Sacramento home Monday that was started by a kitchen fire the night before.
  Firefighters first reponded to the home on 52nd Avenue near 24th Street, late Sunday night after reports of a kitchen fire. The family living in the home decided to stay somewhere else, which was good because the fire re-ignited Monday at about 5:30 a.m.

• Man On Motorcycle Leads Officers On High-Speed Chase In Woodland

  WOODLAND (CBS13) – A man is under arrest after officers say he led them on a chase through Woodland while riding a motorcycle.

  VALLEJO (CBS13) — 11 people were in the balloon when it landed in the marsh near the Napa River on Sunday morning.
  The balloon’s operator says winds gusting up to 50 miles per hour threatened to blow the group into power lines.

  PIONEER (CBS13) — Pioneer resident Joan Armstrong hadn’t been heard from during this weekend’s storm, so her neighbors called the police to check her on her.
  Amador County Deputy Casey Wilson found Armstrong snowed into her home with no heat, no power, and no phone service.Deputy Wilson dug the snow out and managed to her Armstrong to his car.
