  PARADISE, Calif. (AP) – The number of people listed as missing after Northern California’s catastrophic wildfire has been whittled to 49.
  The figure announced Friday night by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office shows authorities have made significant progress in accounting for survivors of the deadliest wildfire in state history.

  STOCKTON (CBS13) – A six-hour standoff in Jackson this week ended with the suspect surrendering to authorities. And it’s all thanks to a CHP dispatcher who got the call in Stockton.

• Man Accused Of Killing Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Appears In Court

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The man accused of killing Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Stasyuk appeared in court Friday afternoon.
  Thirty-eight-year-old Anton Moore was booked into jail from his hospital bed in September.
  Moore was injured during a shootout with authorities at a Rancho Cordova Pep Boys that left the 27-year-old deputy dead.
  Aside from being charged with murder, Moore is also accused of  shooting Deputy Julie Robertson, 28, who was hit in the arm.
