    COLFAX (CBS13) – A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of elder abuse after Placer County sheriff’s deputies say he stole money and credit cards from his roommate.
    Detectives say a search of suspect’s Jonathan League’s room found a number of identity theft items.
    During the investigation, it was also uncovered that League had once moved into a 71-year-old Colfax woman’s home without her knowledge and installed a deadbolt on a bedroom door.

  • Stockton Motorcycle Officer Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle

    STOCKTON (CBS13) – A Stockton motorcycle officer was left seriously injured after a crash near the Weberstown Mall Tuesday morning.
    The scene is in the area of Yokuts and Claremont avenues, between the Sherwood Mall Shopping Center and Weberstown Mall.
    It’s unclear, at this point, exactly what led up to the officer being struck by another vehicle. Police say the driver stayed at the scene.
    The officer has been taken to the hospital and is said to be in serious condition.

    RIO VISTA (CBS13) – A levee road in rural Sacramento County is closed Tuesday morning due to high water.
    The scene is on Jackson Slough Road, off Highway 12 and near Rio Vista.
    Some residents were originally concerned that a levee could be leaking. However, an official from the Brannan-Andrus Levee Maintenance District blames irrigation – saying the slough got too full and overflowed its banks, spilling into the roadway.

  • Man Shot, Killed In Parking Lot In Stockton

    STOCKTON (CBS13) – A man is dead after being shot in the parking lot of a Stockton business late Monday night.
    The scene is along the 3400 block of Manthey Road.
    Stockton police say officers responded to the area a little after 10 p.m. to investigate a report of a person shot. At the scene, a man in his 20s was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

    FAIRFIELD (CBS13) — Security at a Fairfield high school was increased after a deadly shooting near the campus prompted a lockdown on Friday.
