    PETALUMA, Calif. (AP) — Dogs with hairless bodies and lolling tongues will flaunt their imperfections as they compete to win the 2018 World’s Ugliest Dog contest in the San Francisco Bay Area.
    The event is taking place Saturday this year at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, a departure from previous years when it was held on Friday. Organizers say they wanted more people to attend.

  • CAL FIRE Hires Three Additional Aircraft In Response To Red Flag Warning

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — With a Red Flag Warning in effect this weekend, CAL FIRE hired additional aviation assets in response to the heightened fire danger.
    The Red Flag warning is in effect for most of northern California, and CAL FIRE predicts there will be increased fire weather.

    CARMICHAEL (CBS13) — Three men robbed Sharif Jewelers Vault Friday afternoon, allegedly taking $100,000 of jewelry.
    The suspects, three black men, entered the store and jumped the counter before hitting an employee.One suspect went to the vault, which was open at the time of the robbery, while another attempted to break the glass on the counter.
    Sacramento Sheriffs say that the suspects fled the store in a vehicle. The exact value of jewelry taken is not known at this time, officials say.

    SB 826 would then require companies with 5 authorized directors to have a minimum of two females on the board by December 31, 2021, or companies with at least 6 directors to have a minimum of 3 females on the board.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – State workers who just had a baby could soon get to bring their infant to work.
    Assembly Bill 2481 would allow state employees to bring their infants to work in order to promote parent-infant bonding time and breastfeeding. Babies would need to be between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 months and get medical clearance.

    Assembly Bill 1597 would require the boards of both the Public Employees’ Retirement System and State Teachers’ Retirement System to liquidate existing investments in Turkey within 6 months of the passage of a federal law imposing sanctions on Turkey.
