    Community and faith leaders continue to call for law enforcement and transparency in the deaths of local Black men, announcing the launch of “8 Days, 8 Shots,” a series of daily actions starting on June 19.
    The eight days of public action is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. with a gathering of community members, activists, faith leaders, advocates and members of the Clark and Smith families at this week’s City Council Meeting at 915 I Street.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – New renderings of the Sacramento Convention Center remodel were released Tuesday morning.
    It comes as city officials met to discuss the future of the massive project, which will also see a refit of the Community Center Theater.

  • Cyclist Hit Along Truxel Road Dies; Driver Suspected Of DUI

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A cyclist who was hit and killed by a driver suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana has died.
    The incident happened around noon Saturday along Truxel Road near the South Natomas Library.

  • Escalator At Modesto Sears Store Catches Fire

    MODESTO (CBS13) – Firefighters had to help put out an escalator fire at the Sears store at the Vintage Faire Mall late Monday night.
    The Modesto Fire Department says their crews responded to the scene just before 11:30 p.m. A store manager who was out in front told firefighters that workers noticed a fire in the escalator and tried to put it out with dry chemical extinguishers.

    The incident happened late Monday afternoon. According to the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 9700 block of South Oak Grove Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. to investigate a shooting.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – One man has been arrested after police responded to a fight outside a popular midtown bar.
    Sacramento police say the altercation happened just after 1:30 a.m. near 20th and K Street.
