• Cracker Barrel Set To Hire More Than 200 People For New Sacramento Location

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Cracker Barrel is getting ready to start hiring for its new location the Arden Arcade area.
    The company will begin hiring for part and full-time jobs starting May 14.
    More than 200 positions are up for grabs.
    The restaurant, located at 1000 Howe Avenue, is scheduled to be opened by mid-June. It replaces the New Canton Buffet, which closed in late 2017.

    ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Two local Sears stores will be closing in the coming months as the company continues its retreat.
    Sears Holdings confirms that the stores in Citrus Heights and Roseville are slated to be closed.
    The stores, located at the Sunrise Mall and the Westfield Galleria, will be closed by mid-July. Liquidation sales will begin on April 27, the company says.

  • Gun Sales Tax Clears Assembly Committee

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The Assembly bill asking for a tax on gun and ammo sales in order to pay for police officers on school campuses passed the Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee on Monday.
    AB 2497 would impose the tax on sales starting January 1, 2019. It would also impose on excise tax on the storage, use or “other consumption” of firearms and ammunition.  The tax percentage isn’t known yet.

  • Police: 15 Tons Of Trash Removed In Cleanup Of Roseville Homeless Camps

    ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Nearly two dozen homeless camps were cleaned up in Placer County on Monday.
    A group of local agencies teamed up for the clean-up effort.

    Deputies say the man has been caught.

    NORDEN, CA (CBS13) – Sugar Bowl Resort will spend $3 million to upgrade and expand its snowmaking equipment this summer.
