  • Digital License Plates Will Start Appearing on CA Cars

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Car dealerships in the area will start selling digital license plates to customers.
    RPlates are made by Reviver Auto, a company based in Foster City. The company says the RPlate Pro can be used a legal license plate, but can also be used to display advertising or DMV-approved messages like “Don’t Drink and Drive” or “My Child is an Honor Student.” Reviver also believes the plates could be used to broadcast emergency alerts.

    LINCOLN (CBS13) – A 41-year-old Grass Valley man has been arrested on suspicion of child molestation, authorities say.
    The Lincoln Police Department says Robert Eugene Cole was arrested Thursday night on charges of sexual acts with a child under 10. Police say the alleged incidents happened in Lincoln.

    SACRAMENTO (AP) – California State University will not raise tuition at its 23 campuses for the 2018-19 academic year as officials had proposed, Chancellor Timothy White said.

    LODI (CBS13) — A school teacher in Lodi is developing a new way to bring the classroom to her migrant students.
    The teacher is using Google Classroom to upload classwork to help migrant students keep up with the rest of the class.
    Lodi has a large migrant community, and during slow winter months, workers often bring their families back to Mexico.

  • E.Coli Outbreak Linked to Lettuce Now in California

    ATLANTA (CBS13) – California is now added to a multi-state E.coli outbreak linked to chopped romaine lettuce.
    The Centers for Disease Control expanded the outbreak to include 16 states. Previously it only covered 11 states; however, new illnesses were reported in California, Alaska, Arizona, Louisiana and Montana. Nine people were hospitalized in the past week, including two people who developed kidney failure.
    Since the outbreak started March 13th, 53 people have been infected with the E.
