    AUSTIN, Texas — Police say a fourth bomb exploded Sunday night after two men on bicycles hit a trip wire near a fence where it was located. It was the first time this type of method was used in the string of explosions that have rattled the state’s capital. Three other explosives were left on doorsteps earlier this month. The death toll is now two dead and five injured.

    (CNN) – Federal safety regulators say that at least four people have died following head-on crashes in Hyundai and Kia cars in which the airbags did not deploy.

  • Firefighters battle two-alarm fire in Lockport

    LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – The City of Lockport Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 22 Carolina Avenue Monday morning.
    The fire broke out around 7:21 a.m. Monday.
    The residents of the home were not in the house when the fire broke out, but a five-month-old puppy perished. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate the dog but were unsuccessful. Two firefighters sustained minor injuries on scene.

    CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Cheektowaga Councilman Jim Rogowski has been ordered to stay away from his wife and three daughters.
    Rogowski was charged with criminal contempt and menacing last month. His arrest came after a domestic incident in West Seneca.

    TOWN OF SHERMAN, N.Y. (WIVB) — After the case was previously tossed out, a Chautauqua County man has been re-indicted on charges that he shot and killed his neighbor while hunting.
    Thomas Jadlowski, 34, was charged with second-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of Rosemary Billquist, 43, in Chautauqua County.
