    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — America’s favorite pastime will be starting up again soon. The Buffalo Bisons are preparing to take the diamond at Coca-Cola field.
    “It’s a lot of fun announcing all of the new things we’re bringing here this year,” said Brad Bisbing, the marketing director for the Bisons.

  • Chuck E. Cheese restaurant brawl in New Jersey ends with 2 hurt, 2 arrests

    DEPTFORD, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a large brawl that spilled out of a New Jersey Chuck E. Cheese restaurant left two people injured, including an employee who tried to break up the fight.
    Deptford police arrived at the restaurant Sunday night to find a fight involving as many as 20 people, and officers from four other departments eventually responded to help break it up. It’s still unclear what sparked the massive brawl.

  • Conversion therapy banned in Erie County

    ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVB) – Conversion therapy- a practice attempting to change someone’s sexual orientation- is now illegal in Erie County.
    County Executive Mark Poloncarz signed the new law Monday morning.
    The law makes practicing conversion therapy on minors a misdemeanor crime. Violators would face a $1,000 fine or a year in jail.
    According to the American Medical Association, conversion therapy is used by people who think homosexuality is a mental disorder.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Sen. Charles Schumer stopped by Canalside Monday morning during his visit to Buffalo to announce the launch of an effort to secure $35 million in New Markets Tax Credits to help boost Canalside revitalization.
     Schumer said the $35 million project will support new and existing jobs, increase tourism, and could have a $400 million economic impact on the entire region.

    UPDATE: The lockdown on capus at Utica College has been lifted.

    NEW YORK (AP) — New York City officials say they’ve shut down a Queens house that was operating as an illegal hotel and going as far as to offer tents in a backyard at a rate of $21 per night.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo law enforcement agencies are looking to help curb the opioid epidemic in WNY by offering rewards for information leading to the arrest or indictment of opiate dealers.
