    MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — It’s so cold in Florida that iguanas are falling from their perches in suburban trees. Temperatures dipped below 40 degrees Fahrenheit early Thursday in parts of South Florida, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – With dangerously cold windchill temperatures expected for Friday into the weekend, the Erie County Department of Health is reminding WNY residents to keep safe from the cold.

  • Powerball jumps to $550M after no winning tickets sold

    DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — No winning tickets were sold for the $460 million Powerball drawing.
    The winning numbers selected Wednesday night were 2, 18, 37, 39 and 42, and the Powerball number was 12.
    The jackpot jumps to an estimated $550 million for Saturday’s drawing. That would make it the nation’s 8th largest lottery prize ever.
    Powerball is played in 44 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning are one in 292.2 million.

    (WIVB) — Spotify is facing a $1.6 billion lawsuit for violating U.S. copyright laws.
    Wixen Music Publishing claims Spotify used more than 10,000 songs without a license.
    Those songs include Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin'” and works by artists like The Doors, Neil Young and Missy Elliott.
    U.S. law requires two copyrights for every song — one for the actual recording, and one for the composition.
    Spotify has not commented on the matter.
