• Local girl rides on float during Rose Parade in California

  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 10-year-old girl from western New York celebrated the new year by participating in the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.
  Macy Alexander-Childs has been through a lot. She had a small intestine transplant in 2008, just before her first birthday.
  On Monday, Macy rode on the Donate Life float in the parade.

  AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — The region’s first baby of 2018 was born at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.
  Kaleida Health announced on Monday morning that Bulbul Bargotya gave birth to a baby girl 12:01 a.m. Her name is Kaira.
  The Bargotya family received a care package worth more than $500 from Fisher Price/Mattel.

  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police are investigating an overnight shooting where a woman was hurt.
  The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Sunday on the 100 block of Oakmont Avenue.
  Police say a 26-year-old woman was shot by another woman. She was taken to ECMC where she was treated and released.
