• Bear Cubs Found By California Highway May Have Been Poached

    SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (AP) — Wildlife officials say they believe someone illegally separated two bear cubs from their mother and left the young animals along a Northern California highway.
    The California Department of Fish and Wildlife says its investigators are processing evidence discovered with the cubs March 9 along State Route 96.
    Game wardens say they couldn’t find the mother, so they took the cubs to be evaluated by wildlife veterinarians who determined they were healthy.

  • Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Woodland Shooting

    WOODLAND (CBS13) – A suspect is under arrest following the fatal shooting of a man in Woodland.
    At 11:53 p.m. Friday officers were called out to the area of West and Beamer streets for the report of shots fired and a man down in the street.

  • Fire Destroys Home In Sonora

    SONORA (CBS13) – Fire destroyed a home in Sonora late Friday night. It is believed to have started in the garage.
    Dogs at the home alerted residents to the flames. The owners were able to escape with some of the dogs, however, two dogs did not make it out alive.
    The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    VACAVILLE (CBS13)- Multiple agencies working together on a 3-alarm fire at the Alamo Garden Apartments in Vacaville. One person was taken to the hospital, complaining of difficulty breathing.
