    ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man accused of stealing a wallet from a Roseville gas station in January.

    In the early hours of January 12, the suspect walked into a gas station on Galleria Boulevard. There, he spent some time playing the lottery, took a wallet that was behind the counter, and left, according to a Roseville Police Department statement.
    The suspect is described as a Caucasian male adult, 35-45 years old

  • Porch Pirates Would Face Jail Time If California Bill Passes

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Porch Pirates may now face jail time if they’re caught.
    Assembly Bill 1210 would make stealing packages delivered to people’s homes a crime. A person caught taking packages could be charged with either a misdemeanor or felony. A misdemeanor charge would carry a jail term up to a year, while a felony charge could be punished with a jail term of 16 months to three years.

  • More Notice May Be Required If Landlords Want To Raise Rent

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Landlords in California will need to give renters more notice if they raise rents more than 10%, if a new bill becomes law.
    Assembly Bill 1110 would require landlords to give tenants of month-to-month units 90 days notice if the rent increases 10%-15%. If the rent goes up more than 15% then landlords would need to give 120-day notice.

  • Modesto Girl’s Special Wheelchair Found Unharmed

    MODESTO (CBS13) – A special wheelchair stolen from a paralyzed 10-year-old girl last week has been found.
    The customized wheelchair was found Saturday behind a McDonald’s on McHenry Avenue in Modesto, according to Crystal Corbin, the girl’s great aunt.
    Corbin says there was no damage to the wheelchair, which is valued at $4,500. The only thing different was that the seat had been raised.

    STOCKTON (CBS13) — One teen shot and killed early Sunday morning was from Sacramento. The other was from Stockton.
    The shooting happened on the 7000 block of Montauban Avenue just after midnight, according to a police statement.

    SACRAMENTO (AP) — The California Republican Party has selected party organizer Jessica Patterson as its new chair.
    Patterson won support Sunday from a majority of more than 1,200 party delegates to cap off a three-day convention.

    EUREKA (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey says a small earthquake has rattled a rural area of far Northern California.
    The USGS says the 4.0 preliminary magnitude quake hit Sunday at 1:05 p.m. near Capetown, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) down the coast from Eureka.
