  WILSEYVILLE (CBS13) – Authorities have served a search warrant at the house of a Calaveras County man who hasn’t been seen for nearly a year.
  Shannon David Scott, 66, is a Marine Corps veteran who was reported missing back on Aug. 31, 2018. Calaveras County says Scott left his Blagen Boulevard home that day and was reportedly on his way to an appointment with the VA in Rancho Cordova. He never made it.

• Schools Could Be Required To Hold Lockdown Drills Twice a School Year

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – All California public, charter, and private schools may need to hold two lockdown drills a school year in order to prepare for a safety threat.

  TRUCKEE (CBS13) – Interstate 80 is seeing closures in the high country due to heavy snow and whiteout conditions, officials say.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A new bill would allow Californians to register their vehicles with the DMV every other year.
  Senate Bill 460, introduced by Senator Beall, would authorize the DMV to establish a biennial registration period for a vehicle on or after Jan. 1, 2020. Subsequent renewals would be required at biennial intervals after it goes into effect.

• Hiker Struck By Rock, Ice Killed On Closed Yosemite Trail

  YOSEMITE (CBS13) — A woman visiting Yosemite National Park died on Sunday after being struck by falling rock and ice on a closed trail, park officials said.
  A park official said the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday when the visitor, 56-year-old Xuan Wang of Cupertino, was hiking on Mist Trail and struck by falling rock and ice. She reportedly died from her injuries soon after she was struck.
