  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The latest on the shooting in South Natomas on Monday:

  The suspect shot and killed by deputies in South Natomas was wanted in connection to a carjacking in Elk Grove over the weekend, police say.
  In that incident, Elk Grove police say they responded to investigate a shoplifting on Elk Grove Boulevard. While chasing the suspect, police say he carjacked a victim at gunpoint.

• All California Cars Must Have License Plates Starting January 1

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Starting January 1 any car bought or leased and driven off a car dealership lot must have temporary license plates.
  Assembly Bill 516 was signed by Governor Jerry Brown in 2016. It requires dealers to place temporary tags on cars, instead of paper advertisements. Drivers who use temporary tags assigned to other cars, or manufacture a temporary license plate, would face felony charges if they’re caught.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The latest on the shooting in South Natomas on Monday:
  1:45 p.m.
  Authorities say the suspect was killed in the shooting.
  According to officials with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, two deputies were surveilling a suspect in a car at the scene. Two people were in the car, a female driver and the suspect.

• Tinted Windows Stop Leads To Weapons Charges Arrest In Elk Grove

  ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Police say a driver’s tinted windows led to an arrest on multiple weapons violations.
  The incident happened on Friday. Elk Grove police say detectives were near Big Horn Boulevard and Monterey Oaks Drive when they pulled over car for tinted windows.
  Detectives soon found that the driver, 24-year-old Sacramento resident John Hernandez, was on probation. He was also prohibited from being in possession of firearms or ammunition.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A man was arrested for pushing another man over the railing at Friday’s Kings game, causing him serious injuries.
  Around 9 p.m. the suspect, 39-year-old Douglas Zeidman got into a fight with the victim at Golden 1 Center.  Zeidman allegedly pushed the victim over the railing, causing him to fall 10 feet and land face-first on the concrete floor below, according to a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson.

• FEMA Opening More Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers For Camp Fire Victims

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Mobile disaster recovery centers are headed to six more Northern California locations on Monday.
  The mobile units will help displaced Camp Fire survivors at multiple parks in Sacramento.
  Staff from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be working at the units to help wildfire victims with applications for low-interest disaster recovery loans.

  TURLOCK (CBS13) – Grief counselors will be at Dutcher Middle School in Turlock on Monday after the death of an eighth grader in a crash.
  Turlock police say officers responded to the 100 block of E. Monte Vista Avenue around 7 p.m. on Friday to investigate a crash. Officers found that a sedan had been hit by a pickup truck.

• Man, Woman Found Shot Dead In Elk Grove In Apparent Murder-Suicide

  ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Two people were found shot dead in a car in Elk Grove on Sunday.
  The scene was on Elk Grove Boulevard, near Interstate 5.
  Police say the calls to 911 came in shortly after midnight on Sunday. A woman was found lying in the road next to a car and a man was in the passenger seat. Both were shot dead.
  Investigators think the incident was a murder-suicide. They believe there are no outstanding suspects.

  BOSTON (AP) – Massachusetts State Police say travelers tried to smuggle more than 150 pounds of marijuana in suitcases through Logan International Airport.
  State Police say California residents Jerry McNair, Ladonna Hardman and Saudia Watson were arrested Saturday at the airport.

  WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A West Sacramento police officer who died Saturday while on a trip in South Carolina has been identified.
  According to a statement from the West Sacramento Police Department, Officer Rinaldo Monterrosa, an 11-year veteran of the department and senior lead officer, was found dead in Charleston.
