• Two People Dead, Three Injured In Powerline Road Crash

  YUBA COUNTY (CBS13) — Authorities are investigating a double-fatal crash that occurred at the Powerline Road intersection near Highway 99 Friday morning.
  It was a three-car accident that resulted in the deaths of two passengers in a Cadillac CTS.
  Two others were taken to the hospital with major injuries. The driver of the third car sustained minor injuries in the crash.

• New K-9 Officer Sworn In At The Citrus Heights Police Department

  CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) — The Citrus Heights Police Department has a new member, K-9 officer Farley.
  Farley is a two-year-old black Labrador Retriever. He was sworn in at the police department Friday.

  The dog is trained in drug detection and has been assigned to a US Postal inspection service with his partner Detective Dave Moranz.

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento City Unified School District has rejected a budget proposal from the Sacramento City Teachers Association.
  The Teachers Association submitted their proposal at a meeting Thursday night with the district. The association discussed a proposal with district leaders to save $60 million, cutting health care spending and keeping benefits.

  PARADISE (CBS13) — A Paradise business owner is spending thousands of dollars to make sure employees left homeless by the Camp Fire now have a place to stay.
  The Riebes Auto Parts store is one of the few businesses still left standing in Paradise, but most of the workers there lost everything, including their homes.
  Company owner, Bart Riebe, purchased five brand new travel trailers, and set up a makeshift camp outside one of his Chico stores, allowing displaced employees to move in.
