    4:10 p.m. UPDATE: According to the Cal Fire Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit, the Oak Fire has grown to 10 acres and is 0% contained.
    Forward progress of the fire has not stopped.
    Oak Drive and Lime Kiln Road remain closed at Highway 49.
    Placer County Sherrifs said they are assisting Nevada County Sheriff with evacuations.

    NATOMAS (CBS13) — An early morning crash left two dead on I-5 and Del Paso Road Sunday.
    Police said a crash happened at 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning involving several vehicles.
    After the crash, police said they received calls of the two occupants fighting on the freeway.
    According to officials, a blunt object was used in the fight.
    Police said that two people died in the incident.

  • CHP: Fatal Crash In Sutter County Leaves 50,000 lbs Of Peaches On Highway 99

    NICOLAUS (CBS13) — CHP says one person is dead after an RV collided with a tandem tractor-trailer Saturday, causing peaches to spill across the roadway.
    The accident happened at 2:15 p.m. on southbound 99 at Powerline Road in Nicolaus.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Firefighters knocked down a three-alarm fire and saved a cat in Sacramento Saturday afternoon.
    According to the Sacramento Fire Department, a structure fire in a Victorian-style duplex began Saturday afternoon on the 700 block of 22nd street.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Base drums and percussions blasted through Arden Fair Mall on Friday night during a surprise performance by 15 members of the Grant High School Drumline.

    SOUTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — They may be small, but some local kids are doing big things to help others recover from the Carr fire.Over 100 miles away from the ravenous carr fire in a South Sacramento neighborhood, they are raising money for the Haven Humane Society.

  • Sacramento Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested In Nevada After 95 Mile Chase

    RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada authorities stopped and arrested a suspect in a California bank robbery after a 95-mile (153-kilometer) chase during which he drove through Reno on the rims of at least two of his truck’s tires.
    Officials say there were no injuries in the pursuit and capture late Friday south of Reno of Noah David Bodwell of Sacramento, who was the subject of a pursuit that started in Susanville soon after the robbery of a bank.
