  • Golden State Water Company Asks To Lower Rates

    SAN DIMAS (CBS13) – Golden State Water Company, which services Rancho Cordova, Gold River, and Arden Manor, wants to lower water rates for customers.
    The water agency filed paperwork with the California Public Utilities Commission to decrease the rate by 2.88% for metered customers and 2.86% for flat-rate customers. The change, if approved, would take effect July 1, 2018.

    SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS13) – Lake Tahoe’s water clarity is at an all-time low, according to a new report released on Wednesday.
    The annual report was put together by the Tahoe Environmental Research Center and UC Davis.
    According to the report, researchers recorded the lowest annual average level of lake clarity in 2017. Average clarity was only 59.7 feet, researchers say – a 9.5-foot decrease from 2016.

    SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – Law enforcement officers are raiding a plant nursery in rural Sacramento County Wednesday morning.

  • More Than 95% Of Kindergartners Vaccinated In California

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – More than 95% of all California Kindergartners were fully vaccinated for the 2017-18 school year.
    The California Department of Public Health released the statistics.
    Of those who weren’t fully vaccinated, 0.7% had a permanent medical exemption- a 40% increase from the 2016-17 school year. In private schools the number increased from 1.4% to 2.1%.
