  • Probation Officers Visit Homes Of 50 Sex Offenders In Sacramento County Sweep

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Several people have been arrested during Sacramento County’s probation sweep of sex offenders this week.
    According to the department, law enforcement officers have done checks on the homes of dozens of registered sex offenders. The checks, which were done to make sure the sex offenders were in compliance with probation, resulted in 20 searches.

  • Manteca Hit And Run Leaves Woman In Roadway

    MANTECA (CBS13) – A hit and run late Thursday night left a woman on the road, and the vehicle responsible nowhere to be found.
    A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Moffat Blvd. and S. Powers Ave in Manteca. Officers found a 34-year-old female down in the roadway, but the responsible vehicle had already fled the scene.
    The victim was treated by Manteca emergency personnel and sustained minor injuries. She was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

  • Elk Grove Man, 23, Drowns In South Yuba River

    NEVADA COUNTY (CBS13) – A 23-year-old man from Elk Grove has died after apparently drowning in the South Yuba River.
    The incident happened on Tuesday.
    According to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area near the Highway 49 bridge around 2:30 p.m. after getting a report of a man in the water.
    The man, identified by authorities as Christian Cotter, was last seen about 300 yards downstream from the bridge.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California voting officials have counted more than 4 million ballots from Tuesday’s primary election but they have at least 2.6 million more left to process.

    STOCKTON (CBS13) – An elderly woman has died after being struck by a car in Stockton Thursday night.
    The scene was along the 5700 block of Lorraine Drive.
    Stockton police say officers responded to the scene just after 7:30 p.m. A woman in her 80s had been struck by a car, officers found.
    The woman was rushed to the hospital, but she was later pronounced dead.

    CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) – The council voted to censure Councilman Bret Daniels after he was accused of stalking an ex-girlfriend.
    But now the Sacramento Bee says the city’s vice mayor asked Daniels to resign.
    Daniels is accused of stalking a former high school girlfriend in 2008 and 2017. Police investigated and found that he didn’t do anything criminal.

    DAVIS (CBS13) – Expect residual delays along the Capitol Corridor after a train derailment in Davis early Friday morning.
    The incident happened near the Davis Amtrak station.
    There is currently no Capitol Corridor Service to or from Davis station, due to a freight train derailment.
