    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A Sacramento Firefighter/Paramedic helped deliver a baby girl and her parents decided to thank him by giving their child his name.
    Little Brianna Renee recently met her namesake, Brian Hoffer, at Engine 56.

    OAKDALE (CBS13) – A Modesto mom was arrested for leaving her 11-year-old son and 39 cats in the back of a moving truck in 100 degree heat.
    51-year-old Heidi Gusman was inside of the lobby of the Motel 6 on F Street in Oakdale around 4 pm yesterday asking for help for her sick cats. Motel staff called police and when they arrived Gusman was hysterical.

  • Modesto Man To Receive 15 Year Sentence For Pier 39 Christmas Day Plot

    SACRAMENTO (AP) — A Modesto man who told undercover agents that he wanted to carry out a Christmas Day bombing and shooting attack at a popular San Francisco tourist attraction will receive a 15-year sentence after pleading guilty Monday in a federal case.
    Everitt Aaron Jameson, 26, admitted under a plea deal that he attempted to aid a terrorist organization after he planned the attack during talks with undercover FBI agents, including one he thought was with the Islamic State group.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – We’ll be seeing a lot more of the newly released electronic license plates on the streets of Sacramento after the city announced it’ll be installing them on city vehicles.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Authorities are discussing possible charges against a South Sacramento man hours after two deputies shot him in the arm.

  • African American Aviation Pioneers Honored At Nut Tree Airport

    VACAVILLE (CBS13) — A group of unsung heroes were honored in Vacaville, Sunday.  The historic Tuskegee Airmen, known as the first Black pilots in the U.S. Army-Air Force, were the center of attention at the Nut Tree Airport.  The event is the first of its kind on the West Coast, put on by the Tuskegee Airmen Heritage Chapter.
    The airmen were an inspiration to the Black community during and after World War II.  Their legacy inspired one woman to join the Air Force.
