  • Southwest Adds More Nonstop Flights In Sacramento

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Southwest Airlines will add a new weekly nonstop flight to Houston, an additional daily nonstop flight to Long Beach, and bring back nonstop flights between Sacramento and New Orleans in the fall.
    Starting November 4th the nonstop flights between Sacramento and New Orleans will run daily; the flights to and from Houston will operate on Sundays only.

  • State Auditors Say California Underreports Hate Crimes

    SACRAMENTO (AP) – California is underreporting hate crimes to the FBI, state lawmakers and the public because local law enforcement agencies lack adequate policies and training, state auditors said Thursday.
    The audit largely blames the state Department of Justice, which oversees the data collection, for not requiring that local agencies do a better job.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Dozens of DMV field offices across California will soon be open on Saturdays.
    The offices are being opened to try and ease wait times.
    A total of 40 offices will be opening, including five in our area: Lodi, Modesto, Roseville, Sacramento, Tracy and Yuba City.

    RENO, Nev. (AP) – The parents of a 22-year-old Amtrak passenger who was found critically injured near the train tracks in Truckee, California are disputing Amtrak’s conclusion that he likely had tried to kill himself.
