• Disney Unveils Rainbow Sequinned Minnie Ears

    ANAHEIM  (CBS13) – Rainbow colored ears are coming to Disney this summer.
    Disney Style made the announcement on Instagram, writing: “say HELLO to your new fave minnie ears these beauties are coming to disney parks this summer! tag someone who definitely needs these rainbow ears.”
    The ears are mounted to a headband and feature all of the colors of the traditional rainbow– with a heavy dose of sequins. Disney Style describes them as “the most colorful yet.”
  • 1 Person Shot Near I Street Bridge in West Sacramento

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – One person is in serious condition after he was shot in West Sacramento Monday near the I Street Bridge.
    Two men were at a liquor store near 5th and C Streets. They left and got into a car and that’s where an argument took place. One of the men was shot and was pushed out of the car, according to a statement from West Sacramento police.
    The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
    No other information is available.
     
     
  • Worker Stuck 30 Feet Down Pipe In Rio Vista

    RIO VISTA (CBS13) – Rescue crews are busy trying to get a construction worker out of a deep pipe in the Rio Vista area of the Sacramento Delta.
    The scene is off Highway 160.
    Solano County dispatchers confirm a construction work is stuck 30 feet down in a concrete pipe. It is unclear how the worker got stuck down there.
    Several departments are at the scene helping with the rescue, including the Rio Vista Fire Department, the River Delta Fire District and the Stockton Fire Department.

  • Sacramento Sheriff’s Department K9 Stabbed By Suspect Is Recovering

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Jedi, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department K9 stabbed in the line of duty, is currently home resting and should be back on full duty in about two weeks.
    Jedi was stabbed on May 19 while trying to catch a suspect. Jedi’s handler immediately took him to a veterinary clinic for stab wounds to his head and around one of his eyes. He got stitches on his eyelid and around his eye and was treated for a scratched cornea.

  • Military Members and Their Families Get Free Museum Access This Summer

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Eight Sacramento-area museums are offering free admission for the summer to military members and their families.
    The program is called Blue Star Museums and is a collaboration between the Department of Defense, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Blue Star Families.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Fewer people are planning to travel for the summer due to the high gas prices, according to GasBuddy’s 2018 Summer Travel survey.
    As of Monday the average price for a gallon of gas in Sacramento is $3.58- 59 cents higher than 2017.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A five-year-old discovered dead in a Sacramento storage unit may have been kept in a dog cage in a Reno apartment before she died, according to new reports.
    The father and stepmom of Cali, the young girl found dead, are now both facing charges.
    A Reno TV station obtained an affidavit that says police found an animal crate inside the couple’s Reno apartment bathroom. It had handcuffs attached and food nearby, but no evidence of a pet.
