    FAIRFIELD (AP) – The 10 children rescued from a filthy, abusive California home were strangled, punched, shot with crossbows and subjected to waterboarding by their father and their mother did nothing to stop it, prosecutors said.

    FAIRFIELD (AP) – Bail for a California mother of 10 children who officials say suffered long-term abuse was set at nearly $500,000 after the judge said she remains a danger to the kids.

    The course is the oldest in the city, but the number of golfers using the course has dropped and led to a revenue loss, according to the Sac Bee.     ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Officers have arrested a trio of suspects who broke into and burglarized an Elk Grove business early Wednesday morning.
    The scene was along the 9600 block of Elk Grove Florin Road.
    Elk Grove police say, a little before 3 a.m., a citizen reported a suspicious incident happening at a closed business in the area. A U-Haul had pulled up to the business and three people got out.

    MODESTO (CBS13) – Officers are investigating a late-night shooting in a movie theater parking lot that left a man dead.
    The scene was at the Regal Cinema parking lot along McHenry Avenue. Modesto police say they responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m. to investigate a reported shooting.

    LODI (CBS13) – A young man is dead after a late-night shooting in Lodi on Tuesday.
    Around 10 p.m. last night, Lodi police officers say they heard gunshots in the area of Sacramento and Lockeford streets.
    Officers soon found two gunshot victims in front of a home on Sacramento Street, near Deforce Avenue.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – A California judge has thrown out a 2016 state law allowing the terminally ill to end their lives, ruling it was unconstitutionally approved by the Legislature.
