    ATLANTA (CBS13) – One person from California has died from the E. Coli Outbreak linked to romaine lettuce grown in the Yuma, Arizona region.

    GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) – A cat stuck in an abandoned well in Grass Valley was pulled to safety days after getting trapped.
    The Grass Valley Police Department posted on Facebook that an officer with Grass Valley Animal Control tracked the cat for several days and finally was able to rescue it.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Frontier Airlines will return to the Sacramento International Airport in August.
    The airline announced Tuesday it would offer nonstop flights to Denver 4 times a week starting August 1. It will offer nonstop flights to Vegas 3 times a week starting August 12. Frontier will operate out of Terminal B.

  • Sacramento City Council Approves $440,000 to Get Ballistic Doors on Patrol Cars

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Sacramento Police patrol cars will soon have ballistic doors.
    The Sacramento City Council voted Tuesday night to approve more than $440,000 to buy the doors, which can also be used as a shield if officers come under fire.
    The decision to get the ballistic doors came after two bullets came through a car door during a shootout in September in South Sacramento. In that incident, two police officers, Victor Wolfe and Tim Martin, were injured.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The alleged East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer appeared briefly in court on Wednesday.
    Jospeh DeAngelo was again in a wheelchair. The judge did not allow cameras in the courtroom. A motion had been filed by the public defender about a search warrant, and the district attorney filed a counter motion to continue searching.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The search is on for a cello, stolen in a smash and grab burglary from a street musician in downtown Sacramento.
    The loss has left Travis Nutsch heartbroken.

  • Consumers Warned About Eating Raw Oysters from Parts of British Columbia

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – We are now being warned not to eat raw oysters harvested from south and central Baynes Sound, in British Columbia, Canada.
    The California Department of Public Health reports about 100 people have tested positive for Norovirus. All report eating raw oysters they bought at restaurants or retailers.
