• Former Natomas Teacher Will Have To Register As Sex Offender For Inappropriate Photos Of Students

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A former Natomas-area teacher has been sentenced to jail time and will have to register as a sex offender.
    Scott MacMillan was a teacher at Heron School. Back in 2017, he was arrested after an investigation into accusations he was using his cellphone to try and take inappropriate pictures of students.
    Detectives say students saw MacMillan use his phone to record a 12-year-old girl under her desk.

  • Study: Stockton Has Highest Number Of Super Commuters

    STOCKTON (CBS13) – It’s the start of another work week, and a long commute for some in the Central Valley – but none longer than Stockton.
    A new study from ApartmentList.com reveals that Stockton is number one in the country for super commuters.

    MODESTO (CBS13) – More women are coming forward with allegations of sexual abuse against a former Modesto youth pastor.
    The Modesto Bee says these women reported the crimes in Arizona where Les Hughey most recently served as a pastor.
    Other women have come forward, saying the now 64-year old coerced them into having sex with him in the seventies when he worked at the First Baptist Church in Modesto.

  • Fire Displaces Family In North Sacramento

    SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – A family has been displaced after an early morning house fire in North Sacramento.
    Firefighters were called just after 3:15 a.m. Monday on Clay Street off of Grand Avenue.
    Crews were able to quickly put out the fire on the outside of the house, but not before flames spread to a bedroom inside, causing minor damage.
    Officials say a total of four people were displaced, but no injuries were reported.
    The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    Ex-cop Joseph DeAngelo is finishing up his first weekend in the Sacramento County Jail. He’s accused of a dozen murders and more than 50 rapes in the 70’s and 80’s.
    The name “Bonnie” has been a mystery to law enforcement for years.

  • Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing At Mather Field

    MATHER (CBS13) — Sacramento Metro Fire Airport Rescue And Fire Fighting crews responded at Mather Field just before 2 P.M. on Sunday afternoon to a report of an aircraft that had declared an in-flight emergency.
    Sacramento Metro Fire spokesman Chris Vestal says that the aircraft was able to land at Mather and that 2 people on board the aircraft were able to safely get out of the aircraft and were not injured.
